Interesting Characters

Unusual character concepts that require some good acting to pull off:

Best done with unison: on knees, face up, jaws wide, lips out, jerking and gagging like a baby bird being fed. Could also include a “mamma bird” feeding them. Could be a fun vampire variant.

 Character doing something because they know the monster will kill them. Dance, make cookies, stand up straight, lead [customers] down the hall. And smile, dammit!

 Two actors with elbows linked back-to-back. Bound victims, or strange dual-natured monster. If the latter, find weird ways to move that keep it uncanny. Perhaps moving sideways while in a partial squat (knees permitting), chin-down-eyes-up, making sounds in unison at the target [customers]

 Threatening from prone position.

 Renfield character, lowly servant and plaything to vampire masters, eating filth in hopes that they will one day grant immortality.

 Werewolf as puppy dog, but who turns dangerous when sicced or when [customers] approach.

 Harbinger. Announces new arrivals to zone. Also makes utterly mad and unsettling general announcements.

 Mail carrier with rubber stamp with something weird on it.

 Gremlin types that seek to undermine the big-bad, but also mess with [customers].

 Someone who can do “invisible box” so convincingly, when they break the plane of glass (haha), it is shocking to the [customers]. Or add to the effect by having partial coverage with plexiglass.

Someone with dyed fingers or gloves, pretending to wipe gore onto [customer] but it’s just dry skin or fabric. Or wet with water, maybe.

 Setup: mark a [customer] in some way, warn that something special awaits. Later, another character does a heavy abduction on them, making a big deal of seeing the mark.

 

Box of Motives:

I know a secret.	There is something in the walls.	I have to send you to her.	I need one more thing for the project I am building.
He’s coming back any second!	Where is that smell coming from?	What is going on?	I am in constant pain.
What the hell’s going on?	One day all this will burn.	I want to rest.	I have no control of my actions.
No, I shouldn’t. I must resist.	I am lost!	You bring light with you.	Now you’ve done it!
I am lost and confused.	I have always been here. Always.	She’s hiding around here somewhere.	Only you can cure me.
If I kill you, he will spare me.	I must stay hidden.	I am compelled to do it.	The place I come from is very different from here.
You remind me of my mother.	I am weak from hunger.	I can see inside your mind, and it’s terrifying.	I am part of something much bigger.
I feel myself changing.	None of you are real.	I must protect my baby.	I mustn’t, but I want to!
I am running out of time.	Maybe one of you can take my place.	I think I might be a god?	I must find the perfect gift.
There are too many of you!	What do your insides look like?	I’m almost ready!	I will solve it if it’s the last thing I do!
I just want to go back where it’s normal.	We must all obey.	I was buried alive until today.	The sickness is taking over!
You are in my way.	I have suffered so much.	I know what you need.	I must follow the law!
The sickness is killing me.	I want to play. I have to play.	None of this is real.	I’m almost perfect!
I want to save the children.	You should be like us.	We’re all trapped here.	The darkness burns!
All people are bad.	I am not perfect yet.	Wait til you see what is waiting for you.	There is a poison slowly killing me.
What have you done?	I earned my place here.	Do I know you?	I must protect my family.
Where are you hiding?	I am in constant, extreme pain.	If I don’t do this, I am doomed.	I’m sorry!
Now it’s done!	I want to go home!	What other choice did I have?	If I’m good, I’ll be rewarded!
Are you afraid of me?	It used to sleep right here.	Have you seen Johnny?	Have you seen the bunny?
